For returning clients
CranioSacral Therapy utilizes light touch, the weight of a nickel, to assist the natural flow of cerebrospinal fluid. A great deal of attention is focused on increasing the mobility of the bones of the skull. This bodywork technique addresses imbalances or misalignments that may cause sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities. These problems may include chronic pain, migraine headaches, eye difficulties, scoliosis, motor-coordination impairments, learning disabilities, and even autism. CST is gently relaxing from the inside out, whereas massage is relaxing from the outside in.
Neuromuscular Re-education is a form of bodywork that involves gentle compression, stretching, and rocking movements. The purpose is to relax the central nervous system, allowing it to release chronic holding patterns within the muscles. This affects the body deeply on a structural level, without painful deep tissue work. It is very relaxing and has proven to be effective for neurological disorders, such as Parkinson's disease. Children enjoy NMR because of the movement involved, especially when we use balloons as pillows!
Swedish/Relaxation Massage apples gentle but firm strokes and massage oil. Other beneficial methods will be incorporated as needed. This is the best place to start for those who are trying massage for the first time.
Table Thai Massage
Thai Massage is usually received while lying on a special futon on the floor, but we have adapted it to the massage table. The therapist uses thumbs, palms, and even feet to massage the muscles. Pressure may be easily adjusted from light weight to deep tissue.
